ESI Entrepreneurship Camp – June 6 – 8, 2016

About the Entrepreneurship Campbanner

Entrepreneurship Investigation is an exciting, interactive and comprehensive curriculum project designed for middle school youth during the summer.  ESI uses a variety of tools to help participants develop their entrepreneurial skills and find their business niche.  Through exciting activities, case studies and exposure to local businesses in the community, participants are transformed into growing entrepreneurs!

After completing the three day camp, our youth will have the skills and tools to start their own business, as well as have a completed business and marketing plan for their projected products or services.  Most importantly participants will learn that they can do all of these things right here in Grand County.  The ESI curriculum provides an opportunity to reach young people; enabling them to explore opportunities they can create for themselves with the support of our community.

The 2015 Grand County ESI Entrepreneurs

This year we ignited a spark in the youth throughout our community by offering the first of many

ESI Entrepreneurship Camps. Held at Granby Ranch Base Lodge we offered local kids a three day camp to explore the idea of owning their own business!  Thirty participants from all over Grand County came together to brainstorm new business ideas, start their own companies and begin making money. From dog washing, babysitting, lawn mowing, wood splitting, tutoring and up-cycling services to handmade crafts, local goods and solar products these kids took their businesses to the next level.

The fun doesn’t stop here though! Now that many of the participants have a business plan to provide their products and services to our community we want to help them get the word out. Each of the participants is invited to join us at the Granby Farmer’s Market and Middle Park Fair and Rodeo to sell their business!

Grand County Economic Development wants to thank all of the local businesses and business leaders who took the time to share their entrepreneurship spirit and expertise that helped to inspire the future leaders of our community!
